This years first splash park trip

Kenneth started working nights last night so I was trying to keep the kids busy out of the house so he could sleep.  Yesterday I took the kids to the splash park.  Andrew was so  excited to go, he wasted no time kicking off his shoes and running in.  Emily was a bit more cautious, it was a while before she even got her head wet, but after a while she was running through the fountains too, then she would run over to me and tell me she was all wet and ask for a snack :)

Pool weather and a house update

We have a foundation!  It has been fun to watch the progress on our new house, they poured the foundation 2 weeks ago and today they started the framing.

I thought it would be fun to take a family photo every once in a while while the house is going up. So when we were out there on Friday we took family photos on the front porch and in front of the fireplace. I guess Emily is not to thrilled with my idea, she was not excited about getting her photo taken.  

They delivered all the lumber for the framers on Friday, so we hung out and waited for the big truck.  The kids even tried their bikes on the new street and had juice boxes on the front step.

Then the big truck came!  Andrew was thrilled... turns out Emily id not a fan of construction and trucks.

So we took a walk and met the new neighbors...the cows down the street :)

Sunday while I was at work, Kenneth bought the kids a new swimming pool.  Andrew was so excited to show me the pool when I got home.  

A picnic with friends

We met Andrew's friend Noah at the park today for a picnic.

We also did some bike/scooter riding and played on the playground.

I think Noah may have a crush on Emily.  He kept getting in her personal space today, which she wasn't too crazy about.  He was watching her climb up the slide and he told his mom "she's pretty"...She is :)

They have a big roller hockey rink at the park, it made the perfect spot to ride bikes.  Andrew has learned to pedal his bike and he is FAST. And Emily is about the slowest walker there is so we just can't keep up with him.  The rink was nice because he could ride around and around and Em could do whatever she wanted, and I could sit down :)
