July 4th and chicken feeding

The kids didn't do much to celebrate the 4th this year.  Kenneth and I went to a concert, but they weren't invited :)  But they looked really cute!

One of Emily's favorite things to do at mawmaw's house is feed Uncle Blake's chickens and ducks.  Andrew wants to like it to, and he is getting better, but Emily is a much better chicken farmer!  You can see in some of these photos Andrew is cowering in the corner a bit, he eventually made a run for it and got out of that chicken coop!

3 year well check and a birthday party

Emily had her 3 year check up with the doctor back on the 9th.  She was officially 37" tall and 32lb 13oz,  right about average.  Emily giggled through her appointment and impressed the doctor with her speech and gross motor skills.

While we were up at mawmaw and pawpaw's house, we had a party to celebrate Emily's third birthday.  We rented a bounce house and some of her cousins came to celebrate with her.  We ended up getting to keep the bounce house for 3 days instead of the 1 day we were supposed to have it, so we certainly got our moneys worth!

Three Years Old

Emily turned three years old on Monday, THREE!!  This girl is amazing.  She is smart, sassy, spunky and sweet.  She knows what she likes and what she doesn't like and is not shy about letting everyone else know too.  In fact, she is not shy about telling anyone anything.  The other day the poor plumber had to endure 10 minutes of chatter about rain boots while I wrote a check.  She is non stop chatter, from the moment she wakes up until she closes her eyes at night.  And she moves a lot too, she pretty much is running, climbing and playing every second her eyes are open as well.

She loves her brother, and also loves to drive him bonkers.  She really knows how to get under his skin.  And he is her over protective big brother, always looking out for her...even though she drives him bonkers.

Emily loves animals, especially our dog Shelby, those two are best friends.  Every time we leave the house Emily has to kiss Shelby goodbye.  And if Emily ever gets in trouble, Shelby is right by her side, to comfort her through her time outs (that really make me angry!)

Emily is both a tom boy and a super girly girl.  She loves shoes and bags, painting her nails, and all things pink and sparkly, all while playing with monster trucks and dinosaurs and riding her scooter through the mud.  She doesn't care much for TV, but she does enjoy the occasional movie or Paw Patrol every once in a while.

Her favorite foods are cheese, blueberries, and yogurt, but most days it seems like she hardly eats at all!  Although she always has room for "zert" (dessert).  And she will choose orange juice to drink every time...unless we are out to eat, then she wants chocolate milk.

Emily is loving, but not nearly as affectionate or sensitive as Andrew.  She is a really great snuggler (or a huggler as she likes to call it, that is when you snuggle and give hugs) and gives really good hugs!  She showers me with "I love you, mommy" and it melts my heart.

On the top of Emily's favorite things list is Minnie Mouse, this girl LOVES Minnie.  For her birthday I made her a Minnie Mouse dress and she was smitten.  I gave it to her and she said "you made this for me, mommy?!?! A Minnie Mouse dress?!?! OH Mommy, this is my favorite thing I never had before!!"  I think you can see her excitement on her face in the pictures!  I LOVE this girl!
