15 month well check

Jacob saw the doctor today for his 15 month check up.  He is 20 pounds 6 ounces (15th perecntile) 29.5" tall (4th percentile) and his head is 19" (80th percentile).  Still not walking yet!  But he is sooooo close, I keep saying any day now, but I think I have been saying that for three weeks.  Jacob seems to be an observer, and probably a perfectionist like his brother.  I think he is waiting to try walking until he is sure he can do it, once he starts walking, he will be running!

7 Months!

Jacob is 7 months old!  He is actually 7 months, 3 days old in these photos since we were at the beach on the 19th.  He had a weight check again today, the last one he will have to go to!  He is 15 pounds 12.2 ounces (which puts him in the 7th percentile)  and the Dr said he is growing great.  He has now mastered sitting, he can get into sitting from his belly, he scoots all over the place on his belly and he gets up on his hands and knees, he is going to take off crawling any day!  He babbles all the time and says "mama" and "dada" (but he said mama first :) )  and smiles and giggles a lot!

6 months and sitting up

I am a few weeks late on this one, but here are some photos from July 19th, when Jacob turned 6 months old!  We went to the Dr. and he is exactly 14 pounds now, which is still in the 2nd percentile :)  Sweet little guy!

And about a week after he turned 6 months, he got a new skill sitting up!  He has perfected this new skill now and is working on scooting on his belly, he is getting pretty good at scooting backwards.  You can see in these photos that he is drooling quite a bit, but still no sign of teeth!

5 months

This boy is 5 months old!  He has changed a lot in the last month!  He was slipping off the growth curve last month (way, way off the curve). So we started him on some high calorie formula to supplement the breastmilk he eats. We went for a weight check today and he is back on the growth chart!  He weighed in at 12 pounds 11.9 ounces which puts him in the 2nd percentile.  He has gotten some little rolls on his thighs and an adorable double chin along with the extra pounds :).  His head has grown too is up to the 66th percentile (all those brains in there) and he is 25.6" long!

Jacob is quite the personality these days too.  He smiles ALL the time!  And he has the cutest little giggle.  He usually has a lot to say, and he babbles very loudly.  I think he will be even louder than his older siblings...and I thought that was impossible!

His dark hair is getting lighter, I think he will either be a blonde like his sister or a red head like his daddy was.  And I think he will be keeping the blue eyes!  Blue eyes with one big brown spot in the top left side of his left iris.

2 month well check

Jacob saw the Dr today for his 2 month check up.  He was 9 pounds 14 ounces and 22.25" long.  He is slipping in the growth curve, down to just the 5th percentile for weight and 18th for height, so we will be back again in a few weeks to check his weight again.  But his Dr wasn't too concerned, she said he looked great! And both his brother and sister were on the smaller side as infants too.

As the youngest of three, this kid is always on the go, we have preschool drop off's and gymnastics classes, grocery store errands and play dates.  So he is no where close to starting a schedule, he eats when he is hungry and sleeps whenever and where ever he wants.  At the Dr this morning, a med student was asking all the typical check up questions..."how many times does he nap? and for how long?" "how often does he eat?" "what time does he go down at night?" "when does he get up in the morning?" "how many times does he pee?" (are there parents who actually count how many times there 2 month old pees?) and I answered most questions with "well, I really don't know"  The med student was a bit confused and asked me if he is with a nanny most of the day, ha! Nope, just the third kid!

He also had his first round of shots today, which pretty much wiped him out! He spent the day sleeping.

He is growing so fast! He smiles now, and coos and laughs...he is turning into a really fun little dude!

Yesterday he celebrated his Irish heritage by wearing a "kiss me I'm Irish" shirt that has now been worn by all three babies :)  And he got kissed...a lot!
