It is almost time to build!

We have finally closed on our loan to build a house on the land we bought in September of 2012 and should break ground any day now!

We went out to the property on Tuesday to put out some flags so the health department could come take soil samples.  Right now it makes an excellent soccer field :)

Oh this girl...always with her hair in her face!  I just can't bring myself to cut it yet.

But that long hair is good for bath time,  This is what happens when daddy bathes her!

18 month well check

Emily had her 18 month check up with the Dr on Friday. The Dr said she looks great, "brilliant and beautiful"!

She is 31" (26th percentile) 24.5 pounds (71st percentile) and her head is 19" (93rd percentile).

In other news, Andrew got a hair cut.  He has been needing one for a while but has been refusing to let me cut it, today I bribed him with marshmallows :)   He always looks so much older after a haircut.

The time she put chocolate in her nose....

Take a look at Emily's left nostril in this photo....

See that little bit of chocolate there? Yeah, she stuck candy up her nose yesterday....
Somehow she got a hold of a small piece of chocolate Christmas candy and thought her nose would be the perfect spot for it.  She was rubbing her nose and I noticed something dark smearing all over her face, I thought it was blood and panicked.  Then, upon closure inspection, realized it was some of the peppermint chocolate candy I had given Andrew earlier melting out of her nose.

I called my mom for some motherly advice, but she was almost laughing too hard to give me any advice. Apparently when I was small like Em I had also experimented with sticking things up my nose and my mom was pleased to hear Emily is torturing me just like I had tortured her.  "I can't wait to tell your father" she told me...thanks mom.

Well, I talked to the Dr. and they said I didn't have to worry.  Luckily, she had chosen a chocolate that was not candy coated for her little experiment.  So instead of a trip to the Dr for chocolate candy extraction, we just had to deal with a chocolate nasal drip all evening (and wrestle her a bit to get some saline spray up her nose)  She is fine today :)

Kenneth was commenting last night about how that is something Andrew would never do.  He is right.  Turns out Emily is just like her mom (um...creative, spontaneous, curious, you know all that good stuff that makes you want to stick something up your nose) and Andrew is just like his dad (cautious and analyzing).

Emily is 18 months!

Emily turned 18 months old on Monday!  This girl is growing so fast and has SO much personality.   She is sweet and silly, she loves shoes and bags...total girly girl, and she is pretty much fearless.  She has an attitude too, already talks back and if I ever tell her not to do something she makes every effort to do it anyway!  She is so smart, she surprises me everyday with all the stuff she knows.  And she talks...A LOT, she has tons of words and is even saying some sentences already. Oh, and she is super duper cute too :)

Christmas 2013

We had such a great Christmas this year!
Christmas Eve Andrew and Emily got dressed up and we went to mass.  Emily was adorable, she was singing along in church "LA la LA, LA la LA".  Andrew really wanted to go sing with the choir and could not wait to go look at baby Jesus in the manger scene after mass.

Christmas morning we got up to a huge pile of presents left by Santa.  I took lots of video I will work on getting on here soon.  It is so fun opening presents with these babies.  Andrew gets so excited about everything he opens "WOW, a flashlight, it's COOL!  Look what I got, A BOOK!" Emily even got into opening presents this year instead of just playing with the boxes.

Christmas afternoon my parents came over with more presents! Andrew got a scooter, I didn't even know he knew what a scooter was. He opened it and said "A scooter?! A Scooter for Andrew?!?!"  then he hopped on and took off!

Emily got a new car and some new kicks, this girl LOVES shoes!
