Washington trip part 7 - Mt Rainier and Trains

This was Andrew's favorite day of the whole trip.  We had been telling him for months about this really cool mountain he would see in WA.  Unfortunately when we got there it was so cloudy you couldn't see the mountain.  On out fourth or fifth day there the mountain was finally out from behind the clouds, I told Andrew to look out the window and see the mountain and he said "ok mom, I see it" without even looking.  When he finally got up to look out the window he was shocked "WOAH MOM! A mountain!!!! We have GOT to go up there!!"

He was so so excited to be going to the mountain, he made up songs and sang the whole drive there.

Here he is touching snow for the first time.

He spent most of the time on his belly, he could not walk more than 2 steps in the snow without falling!

Snow angel!

We took some trash bags to try sledding on, It didn't work as well as I had hoped.

Aunt Jenny taught them all about making snow balls

See those 2 dry spots on the back of Andrew's knees? Those were the only dry spots on his whole body!

And now here is a picture of the happiest boy in the world!

After we left the mountain we stopped at a restaurant that was inside a train car.  Andrew got to eat lunch inside of a real train...happiest boy ever!
