We tried to keep it clean, but he is 2 and likes to play in the dirt, and with playdoh, and crawl around on the ground. It was a pain to bathe him, he wore a bread bag on his arm and we told him his friend can't swim so he held his hand over his head the whole time. Every once in a while he would forget and his little arm would drift down toward the water and we would remind him his fried can't swim and his arm would shoot back in the air.

I thought he would not be happy about it coming off, he had become a bit attached to it I think. When we got it off they gave him some big headphones so he wouldn't be scared of the saw noise, he sat in my lap and they cut off his cast. He actually giggled the whole time, I guess the saw tickled. He has a small incision at the base of his thumb that is pretty much healed and he can now straighten his thumb all the way! He gives a pretty good thumbs up! I thought he would be dying to go swimming today since he couldn't for the past 10 days but I asked him if he wanted to go and he said "no", maybe another day!
