2 month well check

Jacob saw the Dr today for his 2 month check up.  He was 9 pounds 14 ounces and 22.25" long.  He is slipping in the growth curve, down to just the 5th percentile for weight and 18th for height, so we will be back again in a few weeks to check his weight again.  But his Dr wasn't too concerned, she said he looked great! And both his brother and sister were on the smaller side as infants too.

As the youngest of three, this kid is always on the go, we have preschool drop off's and gymnastics classes, grocery store errands and play dates.  So he is no where close to starting a schedule, he eats when he is hungry and sleeps whenever and where ever he wants.  At the Dr this morning, a med student was asking all the typical check up questions..."how many times does he nap? and for how long?" "how often does he eat?" "what time does he go down at night?" "when does he get up in the morning?" "how many times does he pee?" (are there parents who actually count how many times there 2 month old pees?) and I answered most questions with "well, I really don't know"  The med student was a bit confused and asked me if he is with a nanny most of the day, ha! Nope, just the third kid!

He also had his first round of shots today, which pretty much wiped him out! He spent the day sleeping.

He is growing so fast! He smiles now, and coos and laughs...he is turning into a really fun little dude!

Yesterday he celebrated his Irish heritage by wearing a "kiss me I'm Irish" shirt that has now been worn by all three babies :)  And he got kissed...a lot!

One month!

Jacob is one month old as of yesterday!  I took some pictures of him with his teddy bear, just like I did every month with Andrew and Emily, but without the blue chair :)

Life around here

We are settling into life as a family of 5.  Andrew and Emily are still pretty happy about there big sibling status and little Jacob is still a pretty laid back little baby.

We have been doing lots of snuggling....

And sleeping....

Playing....

And sleeping....

And snuggling....

And sleeping! :)

Jacob doesn't sleep all the time (just almost all the time).  I don't remember his siblings sleeping quite this much. But, he has had some play time too!

He got his first bath a few weeks ago with the help of his brother and sister.

They are the best helpers.  Emily just loves to change his diaper, pick out his clothes, and last night she fed him his first bottle, she has been waiting to do that since the day he was born, maybe even before!  When she isn't helping with Jacob, she gets lots of practice with her baby doll.  She also tells me she is going to have a baby in a few weeks...a girl baby :)

And they are great help in the kitchen too.  They made some of the best, and cheesiest, lasagna for valentine's day.

Big bro and big sis

Taking pictures of all three kids at once is not an easy task!  Here are some photos of the proud big sister and brother with baby Jacob.  The ones of Jacob and Emily were taken when he was 6 days old, and the ones of all three when he was 10 days old.
