Georgia Trip - Day 1

Last Monday, we got back from an awesome vacation in the mountains in Georgia.  We spent 4 nights in a cabin in Suches, GA on the Toccoa river.  Our days were filled with hiking, fishing, train rides, throwing rocks in the river, and swimming in the hot tub.

On our first day there, we loaded up to head out on a hike over a swinging bridge.  Just as we were about to get it in truck, the keys got locked inside.

It ended up working out though (doesn't it always!)  Because while we waited 5 hours for AAA to rescue us in the middle of no where, it poured down rain.  Had we been hiking, we would have been wet!  Instead, we did some fishing and some rock throwing.

We did eventually get over to the swinging bridge later, and a for short hike.

Splash park

We made it to the splash park for the first time this year!

Andrew was a lot braver this year.  He wanted the water to dump on his head.  He stood under these dumping buckets for a while trying to find the perfect spot to have the water fall on him.

Then he found it!

Easter

We had a really fun Easter morning.  The kids got up and hunted eggs, I took some video of that.  They got way too much candy, some new shoes, a few movies, and some goggles and a pool toy.

Easter eggs!

My kids are so excited about Easter coming.  They ask me everyday how many days until Easter and make up songs about Easter while the swing at the park.  Yesterday we dyed some Easter eggs, it was really fun, but I think next year I will need more eggs!  It took me about an hour to boil the eggs and get everything set up for them to dye them, then they were finished dying the eggs in about 10 minutes!  We had one casualty when Emily got so excited she slammed 2 eggs together and cracked one...but she quickly ate any evidence it that!
