Jeckyll Island

We took a day trip to Jeckyll Island in February.  It's a small island in south Georgia where Kenneth and I had gone a few weeks before.  They have a fun treasure hunt and I was hoping we would find some treasure.  We didn't find any, but we had a great time exploring all day with the kids.

Georgia trip days 4 and 5

Our fourth day in Georgia was our last day in Blue Ridge.  We left the cabin and headed south towards Atlanta and we stopped at a little winery on the way.

After the winery, we continued on the windy mountain roads towards Atlanta.  Not soon into our trip, Andrew got car sick.  I should have seen it coming, it happened on our last trip to GA too.  His carseat was filthy, so instead of bothering with trying to clean it at a hotel, we bought a new one and left the old stinky one in Georgia.  I think that was the highlight of Andrew's trip!  He is now officially in a booster car seat instead of the 5 point restraint.

On day 5, we visited Zoo Atlanta.  Then we made the long drive back to Gainesville.

Georgia Trip Day 3 - Emily turns 4!

On our third day in Georgia, we celebrated Emily's 4th birthday!  This little girl was so excited about a birthday trip to the mountains.  She got a tiara for her birthday and, in true princess fashion, wanted to wear it everywhere for the next week.

To celebrate, we went for a birthday hike.  We hiked part of the Benton Mckay trail and found a waterfall that the kids could play in a bit.

After the hike, we had cookie cake at the cabin.  We hung streamers and a birthday banner and sang to the birthday girl! She loved it.

After the cake, we had a fire and made smores.  Andrew and Emily climbed the ropes outside the cabin a bit, Emily of course in her tiara.  I love these photos because they so perfectly capture Emily, covered in red clay, wearing a wonder woman shirt and a tiara, and making some silly faces!  She is rough and tumble, but likes all things sparkly at the same time!
