We've got spirit!

This was spirit week at school.  I think I was more excited about a week of costumes than the kids :) but they had a really good time dressing up for all the themes!

Monday was "Magical Monday", they were supposed to dress up as a magical being or creature.  Emily chose a unicorn and Andrew picked Harry Potter.

Tuesday was "Twin Tuesday" but they made a last minute switch for national talk like a pirate day, so we had twin pirates!  (Emily is wearing the vest Andrew wore for Halloween when he was 1! That thing has seen a lot of dress up play in the last 5 years!)

Then came "woke up like this Wednesday" where they got to wear their PJs.  They both had fun sewing their PJ pants/shorts with me on my sewing machine and they were really proud and excited to tell all their friends!

Thursday was "Mismatch day" where they wore clothes that don't match.  Emily wasn't too keen about this at first "what is people don't know it is mismatch day and they think I am just wearing clothes that don't match?!"  But she got excited after rummaging through her drawers to find some mismatching clothes and I think this ended up being the favorite day for both of them!  This is what I imagine they would wear everyday if I didn't help them choose their clothes :)

And Friday was "School Spirit Day"

Two months ago we went to the beach (I am a bit behind on these posts).  Our annual beach trip with my family got bumped up a month this year so it didn't interfere with back to school, so we went mid July this year.  We had a blast!  We could hardly get Andrew out of the water, he spent so much time in the water the salt and sun chapped his lips and blistered his cheeks!  Emily divided her time between swimming, shark tooth hunting, and sand castle building.  And Jacob spent most of his time hanging with Gramma and swimming.  We also got in some fishing and some paddle boarding!
