Pumpkins!

We picked three pumpkins to carve this year, I won't be doing that again anytime soon!  With my two little helpers, it took over 3 hours to carve them all! But we had so much fun.

I was really impressed they both really got their hands dirty pulling out seeds.  Andrew got every single seed out of his pumpkin by himself.  Emily needed some help but she got most of them.  They started on chairs at the counter but it wasn't long before they had both crawled up on the counter.

Then I carved the faces.  Andrew decided that we needed two not scary faces and one scary face pumpkin...and one with glasses.

Parade and Pumpkins

We had a super busy day on Friday.  We started with UF's homecoming parade.  Gramma and Papa joined us.

Emily had some of the best gator chomping in the whole crowd!

Andrew spent pretty much the entire time in Gramma's lap....until one of his girlfriends showed up, then he was happy to sit on the curb :)

After the parade, we drove to a u-pick pumpkin patch.  They had a hay ride, corn maze, and big hay slide.

Then we went on a hunt for the perfect pumpkin. Andrew wanted every pumpkin he saw!

I found a yellow bumpy one I liked, it got the Emily seal of approval and Papa helped them cut it off the vine.

Little Red

When Andrew decided he was not going to play along with my coordinating costume ideas I got to choose whatever costume I wanted to make for Emily, she had no opinion on her Halloween costume.  I decided to make her Little Red Riding Hood.  I remember being Red for Halloween, I think I was in 1st or 2nd grade, I loved it.  I loved wearing a cape and I thought it was really cool that I had a basket that was part of my costume to carry my candy in.  It is one of those memories that has really stuck with me.  Emily probably won't remember her Red Riding Hood costume so much, but man she makes the cutest Little Red!

I took her to the woods today to get some photos of her headed to granny's with her basket of goodies.  She was more worried about snakes than wicked wolves, I guess I need to read her that book again!
