Big brother love!

Andrew woke up with three arms this morning, must have been a rough night!





Yesterday, I made Emily some bows for her hair, she needed more girly things!



And today I took some newborn photos of Emily, which hopefully I will get on here tomorrow and these pictures of my 2 babies.  These are my new favorites!

Lazy baby

We have been settling in at home.  So far adjusting to 2 kids has gone pretty smoothly.  My mom is hanging around for a week to help out, yay!

Emily pretty much does this all day.



I have been having to wake her up to eat.  Even at night, she slept all night last night, I had to wake her twice to feed her.  (I hope I don't jinx myself by bragging!)

Andrew still thinks she is pretty neat, he is a really sweet brother!









Emily had her first visit with the doctor today.  She weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces which the doctor said was great.  She doesn't have any jaundice, also great!  And she looked super cute in her little hat and flowered pants!



Also, she has really long fingers :)

Best big brother

Andrew is quickly warming up to having his sister around.  He held her this morning and has been showering her with kisses.  He even put a blanket on the floor for her to lay on and wanted to snuggle next to her.

Worth the wait!

Emily Jean Motes has arrived! And she waited until the very last minute.  We were schedule for an induction July 6 at 7:30 but at 3:00 AM I started having contractions.  After a couple hours we headed to the hospital. As we walked into the labor and delivery unit, I could hear the nurses at the nurses station talking about us, one of them said "she's not in labor".  But they admitted us around 6:30 and got me hooked up to the monitors and I was having contractions about 2 minutes apart, one of the nurses said "she wasn't lying!"  So we got to skip the induction and at 11:40AM Emily arrived!  8 pounds 5 ounces, 19.7" long with a full head of dark hair!

She is absolutely perfect!

We spent the day hanging out with the family, all her grandparents came to visit.  

Andrew is still not quite sure what to think of her but he is warming up to her!  We got to leave the hospital around 3:00PM today and everyone is doing great at home!

Happy 4th of July!

We are not doing much 4th of July celebrating today. Just hanging around the house hoping little sister wants to join us soon!  Kenneth went out and bought Andrew a swimming pool today, that might be the best $11 we ever spent, the kid loves it!

Still waiting...

Still no little sister.  We had an appointment with the Dr. today and everything looks good.  If she doesn't decide to make her appearance this week, she will be forced out on Friday!  I also had to do a stress test and another ultrasound, she was being lazy and almost bought me and extra 20 minutes of being hooked up to monitors because she wouldn't move around.  Luckily I ate a few crackers and she was moving all over the place, I guess she was just hungry.

I took this video of Andrew today.  It was supposed to be a cool rock video of him playing his guitar and dancing but instead he wanted to show off how good he is at farm animal sounds :)

Still waiting!

It is 5 days past her estimated arrival and still no little sister!  Here are some pictures of what we have been up to lately.
