Spring is here!

Andrew, Emily and I have started our spring garden!  I know not a single thing about gardening, but I am learning, and so excited to have a vegetable garden in our back yard this year!  I am pretty sure I have the two BEST gardening partners, with really the best gardening attire! Ha, these two kill me!

Andrew is SO excited about the garden.  I mean he gets really excited about pretty much everything, which makes things really fun.  He has been talking about our garden for weeks..."mom, can we grow carrots? can we grow matos? can we grow beans?" YES! Andrew we can grow it all!!!

He has also been really curious about this whole gardening and growing things process.  He has had a ton of questions.  One of my favorite gardening conversations happened a couple weeks ago.  He wants to know how everything grows "do tomatoes grow on a bush o on a tree?" on a bush or a vine "OK mom, do apples grow on a bush or on a tree?" a tree, "OK mom, do carrots grow on a bush or on a tree?"  They grow in the ground, to which he looked at me and said "I know THAT mom, on a bush or on a tree?"  He just couldn't wrap his head around the idea of vegetables growing under the dirt!

We planted some multi colored carrots today and I can't wait to see the look on his face when he pulls one out of the ground!

These two really love helping me in the garden, but only for a little bit.  They always venture off to play in the yard after a short time.  Well I guess they are as happy as I am to see the warm weather because they disappeared inside for a few minutes and came back out like this!

They had found their own swimsuits and put them on.  And they came back outside begging to go in their little swimming pool.  Well, the swimming pool is broken so they had to settle for the sprinkler.

Valentines Day

Andrew had his first Valentine exchange this year.  He was so excited about the Paw Patrol Valentines he picked out for his friends, he asked almost everyday "is it balentines day yet?"  We got them out the day before his exchange at school so he could fill them out for his friends.  He wrote his name on every one of them, 24 Valentine cards!  I was pretty impressed with his handwriting, and his determination :)

I hope none of his classmates were hoping for a Skye Valentine, Emily swiped all of those!

Science fun

Aunt Vicki came to visit earlier this month and she bought us some things for some really fun science projects.

First, we made some really cool crumbly baking soda playdoh.

Andrew was excited that this science project was also turning him into a ninja turtle :)

Then we added some vinegar and watched our playdoh erupt!

We also made some really fun glittery slime that is still getting played with around here!

Tiny gymnast

The kids have been doing gymnastics on Saturday mornings since October.  They both just love it.  Andrew had to take for the next two months while he plays T ball on Saturdays, and Emily has switched to a Tuesday morning class.  It is so fun to sit and watch her do gymnastics.  They do a lot of fun jumping, climbing and flipping. I have been pretty amazed at how much Emily has developed not just her gym skills, but also her social skills. And Emily is pretty much the cutest little gymnast EVER!!
