Thanksgiving

We hosted Thanksgiving this year, it was the four of us, Aunt Jenny, Gramma, Papa, and Great Papa (and a couple of dogs)

Andrew made a Indian costume at school and he was so excited to wear it for Thanksgiving day.  Emily wanted one too so Papa helped her make one.  And they got some balloon Indian hats too :)  We ate lots of food and had a good time.

We also had some Thanksgiving weekend backyard football.  Andrew has the best touchdown dance!

Trick or Treat

We went trick or treating a few times this year, I like to get as much mileage as I can out of their costumes!  Andrew told me that if I wanted to go trick or treating with him I needed to wear a costume.  I asked him what I should be and he said "I know! You could be the wicked wolf!"  So the day before Halloween I made a wolf mask so I could go trick or treating too,  Our first trick or treat was a bit of a bust.  We went to sorority row, which is usually really fun, but this year it rained.  About 5 minutes before it started it started raining, then it started pouring.  We went to a few houses and Andrew and Emily still had a good time.  I tried to curl the front of Andrew's hair like Superman and gave it a little hairspray, when it started raining, he touched his head and said "OH NO! My hair! This took so much time!"  :)

On Halloween day, we went to the zoo.  That morning, Andrew had an eye appointment and had his eyes dilated so he had to wear sunglasses.  Gramma and Papa joined us on Halloween, I am not sure why they didn't have the same costume requirements for trick or treating that I did ;)  We also met up with Andrew's friend Noah at the zoo.

And on Halloween night we went around the block in our neighborhood.  It is a pretty huge block, so it took us a while.  And they got a ton of candy, they started complaining that their buckets were too heavy so I told them that meant it was time to go home, suddenly they weren't so heavy anymore!  I wore my mask and Emily would only call me big bad wolf all night, "wait for me, big bad wolf" "hold my hand big bad wolf" it was pretty adorable!

Pumpkins!

We picked three pumpkins to carve this year, I won't be doing that again anytime soon!  With my two little helpers, it took over 3 hours to carve them all! But we had so much fun.

I was really impressed they both really got their hands dirty pulling out seeds.  Andrew got every single seed out of his pumpkin by himself.  Emily needed some help but she got most of them.  They started on chairs at the counter but it wasn't long before they had both crawled up on the counter.

Then I carved the faces.  Andrew decided that we needed two not scary faces and one scary face pumpkin...and one with glasses.
