Trip to Atlanta

We went to Atlanta last weekend for our friend Jamie's wedding.  We stayed an extra day for a little Atlanta sight seeing.

We went to the Aquarium.  It was awesome.  Both kids loved it, I think Emily was just in awe the whole time.

They even had fish swimming over our heads!

They have some whale sharks there, they were amazing.  And the biggest manta rays I have ever seen.

Here we are in a tunnel next to the penguins!

And the best of the family shots... Andrew never cooperates for these :)

After the aquarium, we went to the coke factory.  It was pretty neat, we did a speed tour though because the kids were TIRED.

I liked the coke bottles moving across the ceiling.

We tried so much coke we almost made ourselves sick!  It was fun to try flavors from around the world.  Andrew's favorite was the "red one"

From the mouth of Andrew

This little guy is a nut.  He is talking so much and really becoming quite the storyteller.  I am going to try to do a better job of recording all the hilarious things he says, here are a few.

The other day I asked him if he wanted to go swimming with Aunt Jenny.  He said "no Aunt Jenny can't go swimming" I asked him why and he said "both her legs are broken."  According to him, she was racing and she tripped.  When we got in the car to go to Aunt Jenny's Andrew asked if we could stop and get Aunt Jenny a card.  Confused I said "a card" and he said "yeah...her legs are broken"

Yesterday Andrew wanted to go buy a fish.  We were at dinner and he was talking about going to buy this fish.  I asked him if he brought his money and he said "no it's gone", I asked where it went and he said "a bug took it", "a big bug."

Andrew has just recently developed a love for firemen.  He runs around yelling "I'm a fireman, I'll save you! eee ow eee ow eee ow" (that's his fire engine sound).  I asked him the other day what daddy does at work and he said "FIREMAN!" I said "no daddy is a policeman" he said " NO mommy, FIREMAN" we argued back and forth like that for a while then I asked him "what does mommy do at work?"  He though for a minute and said "FIREMAN!"

He now knows that daddy is a policeman and will tell you when you ask but he will also tell you "but firemen are cooler"

Earlier this week we were over at his friend Noah's house.  Noah has a lego set that is in a box with a drawer for all the legos.  Andrew was struggling to get the drawer open and threw hid head back and yelled "I NEED A MAGIC TRICK"  I have no idea where he got that, I didn't even know he knew what magic was...

On our way home from the beach he told Kenneth and I "I am going to fly helicopters when I am big"  then added "Noah will fly helicopters too" a bit later he decided "I will fly the helicopter and Noah will push the buttons"  then a few minutes later he added "sister will fly helicopters too"

Yesterday we were at the pet stores and one of the crickets that should have been lunch for the reptiles was loose on the floor.  It hopped past Andrew and he yelled "Hey cricket, you better go! Daddy's going to smash you!"

Splash park and Andrew reading

Remember the splash park?  My kids barely did!  We have not been all summer because we have been spending our days at the pool.  The splash park can get pretty crowded when school is out, but now that all the big kids have gone back, we decided to take a trip there today.

Emily was a bit hesitant at first, she watched her brother a bit then went for it.  Andrew dove in head first, literally...

Andrew loves this book he got from my Aunt Vicki, we read it all the time.  He has now memorized the words and loves to read the book with me.  He gets SO excited about it!
