Good mornings

Emily spoils us.  She sleeps all night until about 4:00, then she eats and sleeps again until 6:00 or 7:00.  Some days (like today) she skips the 4:00 feed and just sleeps in.  Usually after she eats at 6 or 7 I keep her in bed with me to snuggle.  Sometimes when Andrew wakes up he joins us :)

We went to the zoo!

We took a trip to the zoo in Tampa yesterday and had a blast.

Andrew loves seeing the animals.

We got rained on a bit and took cover in a restaurant.  Since we wouldn't let Andrew play in the rain, he soaked himself with a squirt bottle.









We have more tickets to the zoo so we get to do it all over again later this week, hopefully this time without the rain!

Bubbles

Andrew, Emily and I went out front to play with bubbles and sidewalk chalk today.  I love how excited Andrew gets about the bubbles!

Andrew's chores

Andrew is at the age where he likes to help mommy and daddy.  He was given his first chore yesterday, now he feeds Shelby every night and he loves it!  This is a video of him doing his new chore and also helping mommy take out the recyclables.

After we went inside, he picked up the two pieces of dog food he dropped on his way in and insisted on going back out to put them in the dog food bin.

Future rock star?

Andrew loves this video game drum set.  Maybe someday he will join a rock band :)

She likes to sleep on the couch with her feet hanging off the edge, every time I move them back on the couch she wiggles over so they hang off again :)

has it really been a whole month already?

Emily is one month old today!



I keep saying I think I won the baby lottery with this one because she really is an awesome baby.





She sleeps 6-8 hours every night, gets up to eat then goes right back down for a few hours.
She is becoming a lot more alert, she loves to look around the room and even smiles some.  Yesterday she let out a big laugh in her sleep, it was so cute!



Grandma and Grandpa stopped by this weekend.





And we spent some more time hiding in the house from the heat and watching the Olympics, go team USA!



I have learned that it is nearly impossible to get a picture of a toddler and a newborn together. Someone is always screaming.

Power tools

I have learned a lot about boys in the 20 months since I had Andrew. There are a few things I think must be engraved in boy DNA...1) any stick or stick like object becomes a sword, light-saber, or drumstick  2) when you play with something that has a steering wheel you have to make "vroom vroom" noises  3) burping and farting are funny, and the newest thing I learned today that boys must be born knowing is 4) power tools are awesome.

We were at toys r us and they had these little plastic power tools on sale.  Andrew had a hard time deciding between the skill saw, chainsaw, and drill, but he eventually ended up with the chainsaw.  And he napped with it today :)
